    As Production Engineer, you will be a vital resource for Operations by applying your technical expertise to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of quality products.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Complying with the Permit and DOW EH&S standards and programs during daily operations and plant improvements.
    • Working closely with plant operations, maintenance and technology personnel on a daily basis to operate the process safely, reliably and economically to achieve Energy Business goals, improve key plant parameters (EH&S, quality, productivity, cost, energy efficiency, waste efficiency, etc.) and assist plant personnel in problem solving.
    • Analyzing, understanding and improving the production process, process engineering equipment and process control system (ABB x800, Siemens PCS7).
    • Develops technical optimization strategies in collaboration with the CIRE organization and participates in the implementation of the technology plan.
    • Training of the plant operating personnel (e.g. new technologies, work instructions)
    • Ensuring Operating Discipline procedures are in place, initiates changes, and works with plant operators to ensure they are up to date and valid
    • Performs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in the event of production losses and operational disruptions and initiates corrective actions based on RCA’s or changes in operating procedures
    • Performing the duties of a ‘Manufacturing Representative’ in accordance with Global Project Methodology (GPM).
    • Communicating technical and operational procedures with plant personnel, Tech Center, technical committees in the plant and business unit.
    • Maintaining contact with customer plants and responds to customer and business inquiries.
    • Implementing Six Sigma methodology to achieve technical improvements.
    • Leads relevant EH&S activities and achieves appropriate EH&S improvements.
    • Compiles data and descriptions required for optimization and subsequent measurability and prepares authorities reports (reporting).
    • Responsible for production planning in close collaboration with Site Integration.
    • Managing supply and service contracts in close collaboration with Commercial Energy Management.
    • Supporting Dow Service Business with requests to locate / expand production facilities from I-Park partners.

    Knowledge and experiences:

    • Completed scientific engineering education (UAS/University).
    • Knowledge of engineering, chemical technical processes, and their process control systems.
    • Knowledge of plant operation
    • Knowledge of EH&S
    • Knowledge of all internal and external safety-related guidelines and laws (e.g. UVV, SSV, environmental protection)
    • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and methods

  • Become part of Dow’s digital transformation journey and find the answers to tomorrow’s challenges! Via our 3-year Information Systems Development Program you will get the opportunity to learn, develop, collaborate and rotate through 3 different Dow Information Systems teams in Terneuzen (NL), one of our global Information Systems centers – and Dow’s second largest manufacturing site worldwide.

    Program Structure

    The Dow Information Systems Defined Development Program (DDP) is a program designed to provide you the opportunity to broaden and deepen your functional and technical skills, expand cross-discipline expertise and develop your soft skills as an Information Systems professional. You will be assigned to a 3-year rotational program with upfront defined job assignments. In these 3 different job assignments you will get familiar with Dow technology, work processes and client interaction which will help you develop critical technical, functional and leadership competencies.

    For our 2022 IS DDP we are looking for graduates in Finance, Economics or Supply Chain with great affinity for Information Technology, tools and systems. In collaboration with functional teams you will design, develop and support solutions and processes in scope of digital projects that directly align with Dow’s Digital Transformation. Demonstrating your analytical and IT skills you will translate data and work process designs into IT requirements and develop digital solutions to achieve customer satisfaction at the speed of business.

    You will receive structured training for each of your work assignment and work on projects with colleagues from the United States, Brazil, India and China. As well you will interact with clients from any other Dow global location. Multiple senior Dow leaders will serve as mentors to guide you along the way.

    • Exposure to diversified Information Systems disciplines
      By working on different assignments, you will get exposure to different Information Systems expertise areas and the opportunity to rotate based on your individual background.

      You will be offered with a tailor-made Personal Training plan that covers soft skills, IT technical and functional knowledge specific to your team and role. Your knowledge and skills are further deepened from on-job project work.
    • Network and Mentoring
      You will have senior leaders (both local and global) assigned as mentors for each assignment. This provides you with an initial network to help ensure success in the program as well as guidance and support throughout your career.

    At the end of the program, you have gained knowledge of different IT expertise and job roles inside Information Systems. Personalized mentoring and career development support will be consistently offered from Dow senior leaders along with your career.

    • You are a 2022 graduate (latest August 2022) with a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Economics or Finance
